going into hospital
Please inform your Parish Priest if you are going into hospital and will be there for a while. Most hospitals have a Catholic Chaplain who will be happy to ensure you have spiritual care as well as physical care offered by the hospital.
Your Parish Priest can contact the Chaplain and ensure that you have communion and/or anointing whilst you are in hospital.
Your Parish Priest appreciates that you would like him to visit, but this isn’t always possible, therefore, ask the hospital staff that you wish to see the Catholic Chaplain.
There are also Lay chaplains and non-Catholic Chaplains, it’s fine for them to pray with you, if you wish, but please ensure that you only receive communion from a Catholic Priest.
In danger of death, ask for the chaplain, or your own priest.
