Education sunday
September 12th/13th 2026.
On the weekend of September 12th/13th there will be a pastoral letter from the Archbishop which will reflect on school governance; the object being for parishioners to consider the possibility of becoming a school governor, and to recruit new governors for our schools. Saint Mary's school have been asked by the Catholic Multi- Academy Trust (CMAT) to actively try to recruit school governors. Flyers have been placed in church which have a QR code to complete an expression of interest.
The school will be in attendance at the 10am Mass that Sunday and the Head Teacher, Mrs Pritchard Will speak at the end of Mass informing parishioners about the role of governor and how important it is.
A copy of the Archbishops Pastoral letter and information from the school is available below.
Fr Michael will also produce a homily based on the readings for Education Sunday with an emphasis on School Governors. The homily will be available on the website only.
